From "Sticks and Stones" by Niles Wallace
Ceramist Niles Wallace has transformed Gallery Fifty Six. His exhibit is both simple and complex, as well as beautiful.
Niles has created a wall of porcelain 'blossoms' in one room, and a wall of delicate transparent 'blossoms' in another .
He has created a mysterious 'China cabinet' composed of lacy plates and biomorphic 'bowls'. The artist has used the beautiful wood of the crepe myrtle into four complex sculptures.
Make it a point to see the show and meet the artist on Friday, June 3, 2011 from 5 to 8 PM.
